Nia & Matt’s Carolina Grove Wedding | Photography, Videography & Content Creation

When Nia and Matt first reached out to House of Willingham, they knew exactly how they wanted their wedding to feel in photos and video: candid, raw, emotional, and completely true to them.

Their story had already taken them around the world. After meeting through a mutual friend in August 2022, their relationship grew alongside two careers involving plenty of travel. Nia plays professional volleyball overseas, while Matt works in cybersecurity and frequently travels for work. While planning their North Carolina wedding, the two were living together in Brazil.

For their wedding at Carolina Grove, they chose House of Willingham for all three of our creative services: wedding photography, videography, and content creation.

Their priority was simple: capture everything while allowing them to actually experience it.

From their very first inquiry, Nia and Matt told us they wanted their wedding documented in the “most candid, rawest way possible.”

So that's exactly how we approached it.

We created the portraits and detail photographs that tell the visual story of their day, but we also paid close attention to everything happening in between—the reactions, movement, laughter, hugs, and moments they didn't even realize were being photographed.

And afterward, those became some of Nia's favorites.

“My personal favorites were the candid moments we didn’t even know were happening. They captured everything better than I could’ve imagined, and every time I go back through our gallery, I find another photo that I love.”
