Faustina & Patrick’s Indian-Inspired Wedding in Charlotte, NC
Faustina and Patrick’s wedding day was a beautiful reflection of a love that grew slowly, intentionally, and deeply rooted in friendship. From a sacred Catholic ceremony to a lush, plant-filled reception in the heart of Charlotte, their day blended cultural heritage, modern design, and heartfelt moments in a way that felt both elevated and incredibly personal.
As a Charlotte wedding photographer, days like this — full of meaning, creativity, and connection — are truly special to document.
From Friendship to Forever
Faustina and Patrick first met while working together as building managers at the Student Union at UNC Charlotte. What began as long shifts and shared responsibility slowly turned into a close friendship. Over time, that friendship deepened into love — the kind that feels steady, safe, and unmistakable.
Their first official date lasted four hours at a small Mexican restaurant near campus, filled with laughter and conversation. By the end of the night, they both knew: this was their forever.
A Sacred Wedding Ceremony at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church
The couple chose to be married at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Charlotte, a place rich with personal meaning. It was the church they attended together and where Patrick first met Faustina’s parents — making it the perfect setting to begin their marriage.
The ceremony was reverent and emotional, filled with quiet glances, intentional pauses, and heartfelt vows. Afterward, guests gathered outside for a joyful bubble exit, celebrating the newlyweds as they stepped into the next chapter of their lives together.
Midtown Charlotte Portraits with the Wedding Party
Following the ceremony, we made a portrait stop in Midtown Charlotte for bridal party photos and outdoor couple portraits. This portion of the day felt relaxed and joyful — a chance for Faustina and Patrick to laugh with friends, soak in the moment, and create images that felt natural and unhurried.
These portraits captured the balance of elegance and ease that defined the entire day.
An Urban Wedding Reception at The Casey
The celebration continued at The Casey — the very first reception venue Faustina and Patrick toured, even before construction was complete. They immediately fell in love with the vision and creative potential of the space.
Their design concept was best described as Indian-inspired urban jungle. Drawing from Faustina’s Indian heritage, the décor incorporated lush greenery, gold accents, layered textures, and natural elements throughout the space. Plants filled nearly every corner, transforming the venue into a modern indoor garden that felt vibrant, warm, and immersive.
The rustic character of The Casey paired beautifully with the rich greens and organic textures, creating a reception environment that felt both elevated and welcoming.
Handmade Wedding Florals Filled with Meaning
One of the most meaningful details of the day wasn’t just how the florals looked — it was how they were created.
The Thursday before the wedding, Faustina’s aunts and bridesmaids gathered to assemble every floral element by hand. Nearly 600 stems were used to create bud vases, bouquets, boutonnieres, and floral accents throughout the day. What could have been a stressful task instead became a full day of music, laughter, creativity, and shared memories.
Those flowers carried so much more than beauty — they carried love, intention, and family.
A Wedding Day Rooted in Presence
When asked what they’ll remember most years from now, Faustina and Patrick didn’t point to a single moment. Instead, they talked about a feeling.
Their favorite memory was sitting together at their head table, looking out at a room filled with everyone they love — family and friends who traveled from across the country and around the world to celebrate with them. They intentionally positioned their table so they could see everyone, reminding each other throughout the day to pause and take mental snapshots as time flew by.
It was a wedding day grounded in gratitude, awareness, and deep connection.
A Thoughtfully Designed Charlotte Wedding Celebration
Faustina and Patrick’s wedding was a stunning blend of tradition and modern design, cultural heritage and personal expression. Every detail — from the ceremony location to the reception design — was chosen with care and intention.
It was an honor to document a day so beautifully crafted and so deeply felt.
